Terms of Business

  1. All clients must agree to the complete set of terms and conditions before any work is undertaken by Lambda Computing.           
  2. It is the responsibility of the client to approve all work before the engineer leaves the site.
  3. It is the responsibility of the client to outline the reason for the visit and provide details of the issues when the engineer arrives on site. It is also the responsibility of the client to provide a company liaison person who will be present throughout the time that the engineer is on site, so that the engineer is able to obtain the information he/she requires to complete the job.
  4. All clients must sign a site visit form, agreeing to the amount of hours the engineer has spent on site and to the total amount due for the job.
  5. All work carried out by Lambda Computing is covered by a 30 work day guarantee after the engineer completes the job. Any common problems resulting after this date will be dealt with separately and charged accordingly. All new hardware is covered under a separate warranty issued by the individual manufacture.
  6. Any problems caused by unauthorised people (i.e. non Lambda Computing staff), will not become the responsibility of Lambda Computing and will therefore not be accountable for it.
  7. If a client has asked for a site visit and then decides that the work is no longer required, it is their responsibility to inform Lambda Computing immediately. If this is not carried out, the client will be charged for the first hour of work.
  8. All work will be charged at the standard rate unless the client is under a pre-arrange support contract or unless previously agreed between both parties.
  9. All engineers provided by Lambda Computing will give a full explanation of the work carried out before leaving and where possible give an exact cost to the client of the work complete

Quotations

  1. All quotations are carried out free of charge and may require a site visit to assess the requirements and provide a competitive quote. However, Lambda Computing will not be held responsible for issues arising from any survey. It is the responsibility of the client to carry out a backup on any sensitive data before the visit and to raise any issues, that maybe as a result of the visit, before the engineer leaves the site.
  2.  All clients must sign a form agreeing to the quotation survey to take place by a Lambda Computing engineer before any work begins. They must also then sign a form when the engineer leaves the site, therefore agreeing that the status quo has been maintained (i.e. the setup is as it was when the engineer first arrived).
  3. Lambda Computing retains the right to withdraw any quotation that it has put forward to the client, at anytime and without prior notice.
  4. The overall price of any quote may fluctuate depending on the time between when it was issued and when the client agrees to proceed.
  5. All areas of work to be complete during the quoted work will be listed on the quotation form. Any work outside this will be charged separately and the client notified.
  6. No purchases of hardware or software will take place, until an order form has been signed and returned to Lambda Computing and until the appropriate payment made.

Software

  1. All software licenses are the responsibility of the client and not that of Lambda Computing. It is the duty of the client to store all licences for all software used, so that that they can be reproduced if and when required. This includes all software installed by Lambda Computing.
  2. Lambda Computing condones the use of illegal software and will not take responsibility for any unauthorised software used by its clients.

Payment

  1. Any new hardware or software purchased to the value of £1000 in total must be paid in full before the order or upon delivery.
  2. Any new hardware or software purchased that is greater than £1000 in total, must be paid in full before the order can take place.
  3. All invoices must be paid within 30 days of receipt of the invoice, unless otherwise agreed by Lambda Computing.
  4. Late payments exceeding 30 days will incur interest, as outlined under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  5. Should the debt still not be repaid after a 45 day period then the appropriate legal action will be taken to recover the amount.
  6. Lambda Computing has the right to seek legal action against any client refusing to pay the agreed some of money, in the agreed period.
  7. The company reserves the right to vary from time to time all charges with one month’s notice to the customer.

Domain Name

Where a third party web host is used on behalf of Lambda Computing the following terms and conditions apply:

  1. The contract of registration is between the client and the appropriate Naming authority;
  2. Lambda Computing is acting as the agent for the Client;
  3. The client is bound by the terms and agreements of the naming authority.
  4. Lambda Computing cannot guarantee that it will be able to register any requested name and that until Lambda Computing has had confirmation of registration; the client cannot assume that registration has been effected.
  5. Lambda Computing give no warranty that the internet domain name requested will not infringe the rights of any third party and that the client indemnifies you in respect of any such infringements.
  6. Lambda Computing will not accept responsibility of turnover, sales, revenue, profits or indirect, consequential or special loss as a result of hosting services.
  7. Lambda Computing does not hold the responsibility of renewing the domain name for its client and can therefore not be held responsible for doing so.
